One Church. One Mission. Western New York.

When we talk about the Church of Western New York, we are not describing a single congregation or a new organization.
We are naming something that already exists.

ONE CHURCH

Across our region, there are many churches—different neighborhoods, traditions, styles of worship, and histories…

Yet together they form one Church: the people of Jesus living and serving throughout Western New York.

Recognizing this changes how we see one another. Instead of competing or operating in isolation, churches can remain distinct while sharing a common mission. Each congregation brings its own gifts and calling, but all belong to the same body.

It also reshapes what sits at the center. No single church, leader, or ministry carries the mission alone. The focus is not building a brand or platform, but participating together in the work of Jesus. The kingdom of God is larger than any one church, and when we remember that, collaboration becomes natural rather than unusual.

Working together, then, is not just a strategy for greater impact. It is a reflection of the very nature of the Church itself. When followers of Jesus serve alongside one another—across congregations and communities—we begin to live out the unity that already exists in Christ.

In that sense, the Church of Western New York is simply an expression of the Church being the Church: many congregations, one body, sharing one mission for the good of our region.

ONE MISSION

Across Western New York, churches are joining together around a shared mission: to see our region saturated with the gospel of Jesus.

We believe this happens as churches are renewed in faith and mission, as new churches are planted in communities that need a vibrant witness, and as believers are mobilized to live out the way of Jesus in everyday life.

Along the way, we commit ourselves to praying together and walking alongside one another in fellowship, trusting that God moves powerfully when His people seek Him together.

Different churches. Different neighborhoods.
But one mission—to see the hope of Jesus reach every part of Western New York.

WESTERN NEW YORK

Western New York is more than a place on a map. It is the shared home and mission field of the Church across this region.

Our cities, towns, and neighborhoods are diverse in nearly every way—economically, culturally, historically, and spiritually. Each community carries its own story, challenges, and opportunities. No single church or denomination can fully reflect or reach the breadth of our region on its own.

But together, the Church is present throughout Western New York.

Western New York is our shared circle of responsibility.

When we think about the future of this region, we do so together. We pray for one another’s communities, support the work happening beyond our own neighborhoods, and take collective ownership for the spiritual health and flourishing of the places we call home.

From city centers to rural towns, from established neighborhoods to emerging communities, we believe every corner of Western New York matters to God.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

— Psalm 133:1
